Illinois Central College is hosting a four-week, 20-team high school girls varsity basketball league that tipped off on Wednesday.
The league provides players and teams an opportunity to develop their skills and build chemistry with new players.
Three-time Class 3A state champion Morton begins its quest to four-peat this summer, and coach Bob Becker is using it as an opportunity to question his team’s biggest weakness after losing two senior forwards off last year’s team.
“Are we going to be able to get the tough rebounds? We’re taking away 12 rebounds by taking (graduated seniors) Jacey (Wharram) and Brandi (Bisping) out of the lineup,” Becker said before a league game with Richwoods.
