Strong Running Attack Propels Redbirds to 24-14 Win In FCS Playoffs

CONWAY, Ark. – Behind another dominant effort on the ground by senior All-American running back James Robinson, Illinois State (10-4) ran away with a 24-14 victory over No. 8 national seed Central Arkansas (9-4) Saturday afternoon in the second round of the FCS playoffs at Estes Stadium.

How It Happened:
• After a scoreless first quarter by both squads, the Redbirds got on the scoreboard first as Austin Nagel took a jet sweep handoff from Bryce Jefferson and ran into the endzone nearly untouched for an 18-yard touchdown to give the Redbirds a 7-0 lead just under a minute into the second quarter.
