VALPARAISO, Ind. – Senior Maria Schroeder collected her 200th career hit in a 3-for-3 effort in the opening game of a Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader, but Valparaiso pitchers limited Bradley to 11 hits and just two runs in the two games as the Crusaders topped the Braves 2-1 and 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the Valpo Softball Complex.
In the day's first game, Schroeder had the first of her three hits on the day with a first inning single only to get stranded at third. Bradley (18-27 overall, 7-13 MVC) starter Emma Jackson worked around a leadoff single in the bottom half of the first and both starting pitchers sat the opponent down in order in the second.
