VALPARAISO, Ind. – An Alyssa Siebers goal with just over 10 minutes remaining in the contest secured a school-record-tying 23rd career shutout for senior goalkeeper Haley Smith and extended Illinois State's win streak to eight games in the Redbirds' 1-0 win over Valparaiso on Saturday evening.
The win improves Illinois State to 10-4 on the season and the Redbirds are one of just two schools in the MVC with an unblemished conference record at 3-0 this season.
Smith moved into a two-way tie for the top spot in program history in career shutouts – along with Becky Feldman (1997-2000).
