Short-handed Bradley fades down stretch in loss at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Bradley’s season of attrition was epitomized Saturday by coach Brian Wardle hollering constant defensive instructions to walk-on Sean Houpt as the Danville native played the wing of a 3-2 zone for literally the first time.

“Sean’s a great kid who’s trying hard,” Wardle said. “He’s never been in that spot before, and Tone (Antonio Thomas) hasn’t been there much either. There was a lot of coaching on their (defensive) slides and who they should be watching.”

Houpt was the first sub for the Braves, who had just seven players available.
