The Braves traveled down to Carbondale for a weekend series against Southern Illinois, taking two of the three games from the Salukis.
In the opening game on Friday, Bradley's bats were ready to go from the beginning. First inning singles from Lauren DeRolf and Austin Comstock brought Abbott Badgley up to the plate. A groundball to the third baseman went through her legs, allowing DeRolf to score while Comstock moved to third, and the Braves took a 1-0 lead. Hits continued flowing from both sides, but neither team could score again until the fifth inning.
