Scott, Indiana State pin lopsided loss on Redbirds

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Brenton Scott led the way with 23 points as Indiana State routed Illinois State, 84-54, in a Missouri Valley Conference basketball game Saturday before a Hulman Center crowd of 5,148.

The Redbirds (10-10, 4-4 MVC) were paced by Phil Fayne with 13 points and nine rebounds. Milik Yarbrough, who scored nine points, went down with a leg injury with 17:21 left. He returned to the game, but left again after a couple minutes and didn't return with the Sycamores well ahead.

Indiana State (10-10, 5-3) fell behind 4-0 at the start before going on a 17-0 run to take control en route to a 42-27 halftime lead.
