Normal, Ill. - Sophomore Eva Reyes and freshman Giulia Basco of Illinois State Swimming and Diving received MVC Weekly honors this week after helping lead the Redbirds to a season-opening victory over McKendree last Saturday at Horton Pool. Reyes earned MVC Diver of the Week honors while Basco was named the MVC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Basco was named the MVC Freshman of the Week after a strong debut to her collegiate career last weekend.
Basco contributed to three wins in Illinois State's 218-81 victory over the Bearcats.
