NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State will hit the road this weekend to open conference play against Missouri Valley Conference foe Valparaiso. The Redbirds will take on the Crusaders at Emory G. Bauer Field for a three-game series. The first pitch for Friday is slated for 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday's contests will begin at 1 p.m.

Illinois State enters MVC play on a two-game winning streak, as the Redbirds won mid-week matchups against Eastern Illinois and Iowa. The 'Birds defeated the Panthers at Duffy Bass Field, 3-0, and then ISU defeated the Hawkeyes in Iowa City, 11-6, on Wednesday.
