MARTIN, Tenn. – Illinois State soccer recorded a 1-0 shutout win against UT Martin Sunday afternoon at Skyhawk Soccer Field.
Neither squad found an advantage in the first half, as the contest remained level at 0-0 entering the break. The Redbirds pressed for an opening goal in the game, outshooting the Skyhawks 13-4. Illinois State's shot total is the second most in a first half this season, and the second conservative game with a double-digit shot total in the opening half.
The Redbirds continued to push to find an edge in the second half. In the 77th minute, Senior Sophia Skoubis found Freshman Rylann Law on the right side of the box to give the Redbirds a 1-0 lead.
