ST. LOUIS – Illinois State baseball's Joe Aeilts, Joe Butler, and Brent Headrick have been named to the Academic All-Missouri Valley Conference team, announced by the conference office. All three players were named to the scholar-athlete first team.
Aeilts, from Champaign, Illinois is one of four Redbirds that started every game this season, playing both right field and third base. This season en route to being named the MVC's Joe Carter MVC Player of the Year, Aeilts slashed .346/.408/.559 with 16 doubles, four triples, 10 home runs, 49 RBI, and 53 runs scored.
