NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State soccer fell 1-0 to Loyola Chicago, Sunday afternoon at Adelaide Street Field.
The Redbirds' streak of three consecutive shutout victories, the longest streak under second-year head coach Raleigh DeRose, ended on Sunday with the defeat.
The opening half of the contest was a battle of attrition as neither squad was able to find an advantage early. Each squad fought for a fair share of possession and was unable to find the back of the net despite Illinois State (3) and Loyola (5) each having at least three shots in the half.
