RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Illinois State women's golf team finished play at the 2023 Rio Verde Invitational by carding a third-round 314 to give the team a three-day 927, which put the 'Birds in 15th place in the event.
Xavier (875) won the event, with Kennesaw State (892), Cal Baptist (901), and Akron (908) rounding out the top four teams in the field.
Avalon Woodward paced the 'Birds with a final-round 75, a round that saw three birdies and 10 pars en route to her three-over final round score to place in a tie of 17th in the large field of golfers.
