SAINT CHARLES, Mo. – On a day that saw rain, sleet, and snow – and oftentimes a combination of the three – on an already challenging course, the Illinois State Redbirds closed play at the 2021 MVC Championship in third place overall in the field.
The Redbirds brought home a handful of awards for their accomplishments during the season and the championship, as Maria Toledo Bailey was named the MVC Newcomer of the Year, the third Redbird women's golfer to earn the award, joining Brianna Cooper (2011) and Marisa Milligan (2008). Toledo Bailey and Emma Sutton were each named to the All-MVC squad for their performance during the season and at the championship.
