NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head coach Leah Johnson announced publicly on Dec. 3, 2019, that the Redbird volleyball program would be embarking on a foreign tour in May 2020.
While overseas, the Redbird volleyball program will be living out the program's core values of service, tradition and growth. Illinois State will serve the local region by hosting a free volleyball clinic to youth in Beijing. They will uphold the tradition of competitive excellence by competing in four exhibition matches against club and professional teams across three major cities. Not only will the Redbirds grow through competition, but also by experiencing new values and traditions as they immerse in Chinese cultural experiences with sightseeing opportunities at the Tiananmen Square, Great Wall Olympic Village and other landmarks.
