EAST LANSING, Mich. – The first day of a very busy ITA Midwest Regional is in the books and several Redbirds picked up wins to advance to action on Friday in East Lansing, Michigan, on the campus of Michigan State. Nam Pham and Melker Isaksson each won a pair of singles matches to advance to the third round on Friday with a chance to advance to the main draw on Saturday.
"I thought we had a pretty good day overall," ISU head coach Mark Klysner said. "We had some really good wins and lost some heartbreakers but with the ones we lost, we definitely gave ourselves chances to win which is all I ask of the guys.
