LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the first time in her career, senior Emme Olson has earned First Team All-Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Illinois State switched from the Great Lakes Region to the Mideast Region in 2009 and have placed at least one student-athlete on an all-region team in nine of 13 seasons since the switch. Olson's sister, Abby Olson, was the first Redbird to receive All-Region First Team honors in 2009 when the switch was made, and [Emme] Olson is the first Redbird to earn a place on the First Team since Jordan de los Reyes in 2017.
