PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore Nicola Jansen of the women's cross country team has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Thursday after leading the Braves at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational.
In her first race of the 2022 season, the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year picked up where she left off one season ago. In a field that included four top-10 schools in the country and a total of 10 teams receiving votes in the latest national poll, Jansen placed 19th overall of 186 runners. She clocked a 5K time of 16:30.
