NORMAL, Ill. – As the 2019 season quickly approaches, the Illinois State football program added a premier opponent to one of its future schedules as the Redbirds will travel to Columbia, Missouri, to face the Missouri Tigers in 2027.
The Redbirds will face off against the Tigers at Faurot Field to open the 2027 campaign on Saturday, September 4. Missouri defeated Illinois State, 38-17, in the only previous meeting between the two schools on September 22, 2007, in Columbia.
The game against the Tigers is added to the upcoming list of FBS contests already scheduled at Illinois (2020), at Western Michigan (2021), at Wisconsin (2022), at Iowa (2024) and at Northern Illinois (2026).
