ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the first time in her career, Bradley sophomore Megan Welch (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
Welch posted the first top-10 finish of her career, tying for ninth to help pace Bradley Women's Golf to a ninth-place finish in the 18-team field at the 18th annual Rio Verde Invitational in the spring opener for the Braves this past weekend.
After an opening round 79 Friday, Welch matched the low round of her career with a pair of 72's Sunday to finish at seven-over 223 for the tournament.
