ST. LOUIS – After a school record-breaking performance in the 110-meter hurdles at the Sun Angel Classic, hosted by Arizona State, Illinois State sophomore Jaylan McConico has been named the MVC Male Track Athlete of the Week, announced the league Tuesday.
Including the indoor season, this is McConico's third weekly honor of the 2017-18 campaign, as he claimed the award on Dec. 12, 2017, and Jan. 16, 2018, as well. This also marks the third-consecutive week that Illinois State has claimed this weekly honor, with Jack Anstey receiving the award the two previous times.
