ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Illinois State sophomore Maria Toledo Bailey has been named the MVC Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Red Rocks Invitational on March 20 and 21.
The Birmingham, England, native was Illinois State's top golfer during the tournament, placing in a tie for 11th overall with a seven-over 223. She played a balanced tournament with scores of 74, 75, and 74 for the three rounds. Her first and third rounds saw her record three birdies over each round, with two birdies in the second round. Of her eight birdies on the tournament, they came on eight different holes, including the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, 11th, 15th, and 18th.
