PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior utility/catcher Maria Schroeder (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping Bradley Softball to a 3-2 record at last weekend's Blues City Classic in Memphis, Tenn.
Schroeder, who owns a seven-game hit streak, hit .500 with a triple, home run, five runs and six RBI in the five games as she scored or drove in 10 of Bradley's 34 runs over the weekend. She helped highlight a seven-run fifth inning in a 12-8 victory over UMKC with a two-run single and went 2-for-2 with a walk, one run and three RBI in the win.
