PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's tennis player Malini Wijesinghe (Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Women's Tennis team open its spring season with a 4-3 victory over Milwaukee.
Wijesinghe went 2-0 on the day, teaming with freshman Bozana Lojpur for a 6-3 victory at #2 doubles to seal the doubles point for the Braves. In singles play, she topped Milwaukee's Nikki Milner 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at #3 singles to claim the deciding point in Bradley's 4-3 win over the Panthers.
