ST. LOUIS – Illinois State volleyball's Nicole Lund has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor given to the middle blocker.
Lund led the defensive charge for the Redbirds this weekend, as Illinois State swept the series against Missouri State in their first matches back in nearly two weeks. She recorded 11 stuffs to average 1.57 blocks per set in the two matches.
