PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore infielder Lucy Mead (West Seattle, Wash./West Seattle) has been named this week's Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Softball take two of three games from Valparaiso to open Missouri Valley Conference play.
Mead went 6-for-9 at the plate in the series, collecting hits in each game and scored or drove in six of BU's 21 runs in the series. She went a perfect 3-for-3 in the opener with a stolen base and run scored to help highlight a 5-3 win in the series opener. Mead followed that up by going 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI in a 16-1 victory in the nightcap that was Bradley's largest margin of victory in a MVC contest in program history.
