PEORIA — It is altogether fitting that Frank Bussone's exit from this earth would come in the midst of March Madness, the pinnacle time period of the sport he loved so much.
Bussone, 74, died Wednesday night after an eight-month battle with cancer.
For a decade from the mid-1960s to the mid-'70s, Bussone was the public address announcer for Bradley men's basketball. He went on to become the Bradley basketball play-by-play announcer for WEEK-TV, the station for which he served as general manager, and also for the IHSA boys basketball broadcasts.
