It hasn’t taken freshman guard Johnny Kinziger long to make a favorable impression on Illinois State basketball coach Ryan Pedon.
“Johnny, playing with him now for three games, he’s gaining my trust by the game,” Pedon said after the Redbirds’ win over Eastern Illinois on Wednesday.
ISU begins play in the Gulf Coast Showcase against Long Beach State on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Redbirds face either High Point or Iona on Tuesday and conclude the MTE (Multi Team Event) on Wednesday.
