NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State sophomore standout Angelica Labat was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week Tuesday, after her strong performance for the Redbirds in their meet last weekend at Southeast Missouri.
The MIC Gymnast of the Week honor is the second for Labat this season, as she previously earned the award on Feb. 16 after winning a pair of all-around titles for the Redbirds. Overall, this is Labat's fourth MIC Gymnast of the Week honor in her career and her ninth total MIC weekly recognition.
The Chesapeake, Va., native won the all-around title in last Friday's tri-meet with Southeast Missouri and Centenary in Cape Girardeau.
