Illinois State’s basketball effort Friday deep into the St. Louis night was as ugly as it gets.
The Redbirds did everything poorly in a 65-57 loss to sub-.500 Indiana State, two weeks and change after routing the Sycamores, 78-50. It was an embarrassing exit from the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament that raised the blood pressure of ISU’s red-clad faithful.
Among them was a fan who in the final minute at Scottrade Center chanted, “Fire Dan Muller. Fire Dan Muller.”
That’s not going to happen, for a couple of reasons.
First, Muller is 76-58 in four seasons as head coach.
