ISU's Coprich finishes third for national FCS award

Illinois State senior tailback Marshaun Coprich finished third in balloting for the STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year award Friday at the national awards banquet in Frisco, Texas.

The honor formerly known as the Walter Payton Award went to Eastern Washington wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who caught 114 passes for 1,642 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Kupp received 34 first-place votes and 378 points in a vote of a national panel. Tailback Kade Harrington of Lamar was second with 26 votes for the top spot and 349 points. Harrington rushed for 2,092 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Coprich picked up 23 first-place votes and 275 points.
