SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The No. 2-seeded Illinois State volleyball team downed No. 6 seed Drake, 25-23, 25-22, 27-25, in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Friday.
Kaylee Martin's 16 kills paced the Redbirds (25-6), who received 11 kills from Lexi Wallen and 10 from Ali Line. Stef Jankiewicz distributed 42 assists while Courtney Pence registered 16 digs.
“We felt like we wanted to make sure we utilized everyone, and Kaylee (Martin) has been coming on strong lately," said ISU coach Leah Johnson. "We wanted to give her more time on the court and use her strength, and she really helped lead the charge.
