Illinois State and Tulsa are making a habit of playing each other for third place.
For the second straight year, the Redbirds face the Golden Hurricane in a third-place game. This year it's in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic at Myrtle Beach at HTC Center in Conway, S.C.
Tulsa (2-2) visits Redbird Arena on Dec. 2 to face ISU (1-2). Last year, the Golden Hurricane rallied in the second half to beat the Redbirds in Tulsa before ISU got revenge 18 days later on Christmas Day in the Diamond Head Classic third-place game in Hawaii.
ISU is coming off an 82-64 loss to Boise State in Friday's semifinals in which the Redbirds trailed by 33 in the second half.
