ISU starts fast, rolls past Morehead State in home opener

After a trying evening last Saturday in a loss to Northern Illinois, the Redbirds scored two touchdowns in the first four minutes and overwhelmed Morehead State, 42-14, before a crowd of 11,256.

"It was good to be back (home)," said ISU coach Brock Spack, who is 11-0 in home openers with the Redbirds. "For the most part, we played pretty well."

No. 16-ranked ISU amassed 352 yards of first-half offense while assembling a 35-0 lead. The Redbirds (1-1) averted their first 0-2 start since 2013, while dropping the Eagles to 1-1.

ISU took the opening kickoff 89 yards in seven plays with James Robinson charging through a huge hole on the right side of his line for a 16-yard touchdown.
