And despite a laborious rehabilitation from a hamstring injury, the Redbirds’ top returning receiver remains confident he is another day closer to taking the field when ISU faces Northern Illinois in a 6 p.m. contest on Aug. 31 in DeKalb.
Edgar has spent nearly the entire month of August on the sideline. He recently returned to limited drills, but has not participated in full contact periods.
Edgar caught 44 passes for 746 yards and four touchdowns last season as a redshirt freshman. Top receiver Spencer Schnell was a senior and is playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
