NORMAL — Guard Elijah Clarance announced Monday he has decided to forego his final three years of eligibility at Illinois State and begin his professional basketball career.
Clarance recently competed for Sweden in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) U20 European Championships.
He said in a university release that "after discussing this with my family and close ones, we think this is the best opportunity for me."
Clarance thanked ISU head coach Dan Muller, Redbird assistant coach Brian Reese and former ISU assistants Luke Yaklich and Dean Oliver "for believing in my abilities and potential that I was blessed enough to showcase.
