Simon is a 6-foot, 270-pounder who will have two years of eligibility at ISU. He joins linebacker Aaron Mends as ex-Hawkeyes who have been added to the Redbird roster since the end of last season.
“We were looking for someone who could bolster our front seven and be a disruptive pass rusher, and everything we hear about Brandon says he can be that type of player,” Spack said. “We are excited about his ability to get after the quarterback, and he adds a physical body to our defensive front."
A native of Newark, N.J., Simon saw action in one game in 2018 as a sophomore against Northern Iowa.
