ISU foe Richmond solid on both sides of ball

The balance of the University of Richmond football team’s offense extends in several directions.

“As the season goes on, we’ve found the perfect marriage,” Spiders’ coach Danny Rocco said of an offense that averages 34.7 points and 463.4 yards entering Friday’s 6:30 p.m. FCS quarterfinal round playoff game against Illinois State at Hancock Stadium.

The Richmond running attack features 5-foot-9, 192-pound senior Jacobi Green, who has rushed for 1,426 yards and 18 touchdowns.

The passing game boasts a quarterback with a 63 percent completion rate who has thrown for 3,058 yards in sophomore Kyle Lauletta and a pair of receivers with 60-plus catches in junior Brian Brown and senior Reggie Diggs.
