NORMAL — Illinois State's DJ Horne was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team as the league released the all-league teams Tuesday morning.
ISU didn't have any selections to the three all-league teams, the all-newcomer team or the all-defensive team.
Horne, who has started 23 games, is ISU's third-leading scorer with an 8.8 average. The 6-foot-1 native of Raleigh, N.C., is shooting 40.9% from 3-point range (45 of 110). Horne also grabs 3.1 rebounds per game and is third on the team with 42 assists.
In ISU's last game, Horne scored a season-high 24 points as the Redbirds won their first road game of the season by beating Evansville, 71-60.
