Illinois State women hold off North Dakota behind Koudelka

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Sophomore reserve Lexy Koudelka scored a career-high 21 points in a mere 18 minutes to spark the Illinois State women's basketball team to a 66-58 nonconference win over North Dakota on Sunday.

“Our staff and the players are not surprised. We see her talent all the time," ISU coach Kristen Gillespie said. "She came in and made the most of her minutes when it mattered the most."

Koudelka was 7 of 10 from the field, 7 of 8 at the free throw line and handled five rebounds.

"The great thing about her performance, it was against two really good post players, one of which was 6-5," said Gillespie.
