LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 14th-consecutive year, the Illinois State volleyball program was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for its continued success in the classroom. On Monday, the Redbirds were presented with the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season.
Illinois State was also part of the 2021-22 NCAA Division I Honor Roll, meaning the team's GPA was in the top 20% of Division I programs.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.
