IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Illinois State baseball pitching staff allowed a mere four hits in the Redbirds' 3-2 win at Iowa on Tuesday evening at Duane Banks Field.
Third-year sophomore Greg Nichols delivered the big blow of the game, a two-RBI double in the 3rd inning for the Redbirds (18-22 overall).
Iowa drops to 26-15.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawkeyes plated a run in the 1st inning. The 'Birds nearly tied the game in the 2nd inning but a close play at the plate went in favor of Iowa.
