Rockford, Ill. -- The Illinois State women's soccer team took on the DePaul Blue Demons at Sportscore in Rockford, Ill. on Wednesday afternoon. The hard-fought match ended in a draw at 1-1.
The defensive battle was scoreless at the end of the first half between the Redbirds and Blue Demons. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Priya Gillan collected five saves through the first 45 minutes, with Illinois State tallying five shots, putting two on goal.
DePaul senior Morgan Turner netted the first goal of the game to open the second half. In the 74th minute, redshirt senior Abby Basler scored the equalizer, driving the ball to the top left corner from distance.
