BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Illinois State gymnastics team ranked in the Top 25 academically of all collegiate gymnastics programs last year, as the Redbirds came in at No. 21 on the list of top team grade-point averages (GPAs) for the 2019-20 academic year based on data submitted to the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).
Overall, there were 53 teams with a team GPA of 3.5 or more on a 4.0 scale, an increase from 31 teams last year. A record number of student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA (193 total or 14.23 percent), which is an increase from 8.
