Illinois State Draws Iowa in First Round

NORMAL, Ill. – Making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008, the Illinois State women's basketball team (19-13, 12-6 MVC) will take on second-seeded Iowa in an NCAA Tournament First Round game on Friday, March 18 in Iowa City, Iowa. The Redbirds are seeded 15th in the Greensboro Region. The winner of Friday's matchup will advance to face the winner of the tilt between No. 7 Colorado and No. 10 Creighton.

Illinois State punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament this afternoon, defeating UNI, 50-48, at the TaxSlayer Center in the title game of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
