Illinois State softball players Emme Olson and Dayna Kennedy have been selected the Missouri Valley Conference Player and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, for their performances in Arizona State's Littlewood Classic.
Olson, a sophomore, batted .526 in five starts with a double, triple, home run and team-best seven RBIs. The Hartsburg native and Olympia High School graduate had four multi-hit games at the tournament and has a six-game hitting streak.
The freshman Kennedy batted a .556 in the Littlewood Classic. She had two doubles and an RBI and drew three walks in ISU’s win over Detroit Mercy.
