ST. LOUIS – Illinois State senior baseball players Jacob Hendren and Brian Rodemoyer have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced Tuesday. Hendren was a first-team selection, while Rodemoyer was an honorable mention pick.
Hendren, a senior from Le Roy, Illinois, earned first-team honors for the second-consecutive season. He was 3-8 with a 5.66 ERA in 15 appearances. He ranked second among Redbird pitchers in both innings pitched (82.2) and strikeouts (60), and finished his season with 4.2 scoreless innings of relief work in an MVC Tournament game against Evansville May 26.
