ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Illinois State baseball's fourth-year junior Greg Nichols has been named to Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First-Team, which marks Illinois State's 15th-straight season of having at least one student-athlete named to the First Team. The MVC Scholar-Athlete teams were announced by the conference Tuesday morning.
Nichols, a Roseville, Calif. native, holds a 4.00 in Criminal Justice Sciences and was a mainstay in the Redbird lineup in 2023 as he played in all 50 games, making 22 starts at second base, 19 at third base, and seven at shortstop.
