PEORIA, Ill. – Senior pitcher/utility Grace French (Benicia, Calif./Benicia) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Thursday after tossing a no-hitter to highlight last weekend's action for Bradley Softball at the Mizzou Classic.
French hit .214 with a triple, home run, two runs and two RBI in addition to throwing Bradley's first no-hitter since 2007 to help the Braves to a 3-2 record at last weekend's Mizzou Classic in Columbia, Mo. She homered in Saturday's victory against NCAA Division I newcomer St. Thomas, which reached last year's NCAA Division III College World Series.
