Former BU assistant coach in car crash that kills his wife, daughter

PEORIA — Former Bradley University assistant men’s basketball coach Howard Moore, now assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin, was in critical condition Saturday after a car crash that killed his wife and his daughter.

The Detroit News and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that a 23-year-old woman, driving in the wrong direction on Michigan’s highway M-14, slammed into oncoming traffic at 2:04 a.m. Saturday.

The woman was killed, as were Moore’s wife, Jen, and daughter, Jaidyn. Moore’s son, Jerrell survived. Moore suffered burns and other injuries and was in a Michigan hospital Saturday afternoon.

“He is in critical condition, suffered burns, and he’s undergoing some surgeries at a hospital in Ann Arbor,” said former Bradley assistant coach Al Biancalana, who was on coaching staffs with Moore under BU head coaches Jim Molinari and Jim Les when Moore was there from 1999-2003.
